The dance represents two main characters; one is Barong Kris and other is Rangda. Barong Kris represents a divine animal which combines a lion, tiger, dragon and cow in shape. On the other hand Rangda represents a sinister or evil. The entire body of Barong Kris is decorated with traditional Bali art carvings which include small mirrors, fur, wool, dried fibrous leafs etc and almost opposite costumes and expressions can be seen on Rangda which represents an evil character, mutually a performance which is loved by people of all ages.
